Lacking Focus? This Could be the Reason Why You Can’t Concentrate

Reminders, alarms, planners, and organizers – name it. You have tried almost everything to help you concentrate on reaching your goals, but none of them worked.

Distractions always abound and you simply cannot focus on your chores. The good news is that you don’t need to give up on your dreams and visions because there is still hope with these steps:

Physical

Did you know that focus isn’t just in your mind? It is also related to how your body processes food.

There’s a reason you feel sluggish after chugging down liters of soda and munching on many bags of chips. It’s not just about what you eat but also how much you consume because your body needs to absorb nutrients and minerals as well.

Your digestion affects your focus

To improve your digestion, take probiotics, which experts said are good for nutrient absorption and brain activity. Also, make sure that you’re drinking enough water because dehydration is a well-known culprit for fatigue – plus, it can cause overeating.

It cannot be stressed enough that you need water to soar through a day. If you are constantly stressed, it will manifest in your skin, hair, etc., which is why you need to consume sodium, the electrolyte needed for water retention.

Emotional

This is usually something we don’t account for when thinking of ways to refresh our focus. However, if you find yourself stuck in a rut despite removing all the distractions, it may be because you are undergoing something that you have been denying.

Sometimes, you need to confront your emotions

The longer you insist on sidetracking your feelings, the more it could ruin not just the little things but also the way you relate to others and the way you accomplish your work. Sometimes, you just need to confront the very scary thing you’ve been trying to hide from because it will give you focus afterward.

It may not be easy but any emotional luggage you will let go off will leave you feeling lighter. Slowly acknowledge your issues and try to find the answers.

Mental

Now comes the hardest part, making sure you don’t give in to distractions — the main reason you can’t focus. While some of these are inevitable (read: kids), there are others that you can control like social media, Netflix, and toxic relationships.

Social media is a big distraction

These are the things you should eliminate in your daily routine, which is really not easy to let go of. However, you will find a newfound concentration once you’ve accomplished this.

On top of this, you can also engage in activities that boost your focus like meditation, yoga, reading, and journaling, among many others. These concentration-builders must be done with your everyday tasks.
